Biography of Gerry Clarke

Gerry Clarke (Clarke) and has 25 years of experience as a consultant to business and industry internationally. Currently he is consulting in executive development and organizational culture change with a large European bank in Romania, a Fortune 50 computer component manufacturer, a large Midwestern legal firm, and several other companies around the United States. An interesting and entertaining speaker, Clarke spends much of his time speaking at retreats, annual conventions and keynotes.

From mid 1999 to late 2004, Clarke was president and CEO of Human Synergistics International and was a member of the company's executive board. Clarke brought nearly 20 years of consulting experience using Human Synergistics materials to chart new paths of growth, service and leadership for the company's assessment and development tools that help maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness. His presidency showed almost a 15% growth in company net revenue during a down economy.

Prior to joining HSI, Clarke served as president and founder of Clarke Consulting LLC, a successful international management consulting firm specializing in organizational issues such as TQM, quality systems, leadership development, team development, productivity improvement, and organizational culture and technological change. A long-time user and proponent of HSI assessment materials, Clarke has counseled diverse businesses of all sizes from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies on issues impacting performance, productivity and effectiveness.

Prior to consulting, Clarke was General Manager for a national wholesale printing company in Denver; Vice President for a large screw machine manufacturing company in Los Angeles; Quality and Engineering Director for Teledyne Water Pic in Colorado; and as an engineer and production manager for Corning Glass in Oklahoma.

Clarke is a graduate of the University of Arkansas; having earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing his masters in statistics and a doctorate in Psychology. His professional certifications include ISO 9000 Assessor, Deming Quality Methods, Vance Creative Thinking Methods. Clarke is a member of Mensa, ISPE, the World Future Society, and the Planetary Society. Clarke, a U.S. Air Force captain, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement during flight as a pilot in Vietnam. He was also awarded the Air Medal with four clusters and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
