Biography of Richard Graves
Background Richard Graves has gained more than twenty-five years of experience in organization development, management development training, managing organizations, and program management. His emphasis has been to increase organizational performance and productivity through the use of learning technologies, organization development, and performance modeling,
Richard has provided consulting and training services to a variety of clients. They include Avery Dennison International; Sears, Roebuck and Company; U.S. Postal Service; Federal Emergency Management Agency; BDM International; FMC Corporation; U.S. Army; U.S. Air Force; National Security Agency; and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Training Development Richard has a complete understanding of training system and curriculum design, course development and delivery, and training assessment and evaluation. He has been involved in all phases of education from needs assessment to actively carrying out and evaluating final instruction. He is a skilled facilitator and has a complete understanding of group dynamics. Richard has authored and published numerous course manuals and experiential activities. He has designed and delivered hundreds of courses via classroom instruction and live television production.
His specialties include developing skills through training and coaching that rebalance an organization's social and technical system, skills such as managing change, coaching employees, resolving conflicts, communicating goals, fostering collaboration, and building teams. He has extensive experience in facilitating organizational change and developing the leaders and teams to carry it through. He is an intuitive diagnostician providing inspiration and creativity to solve complex organizational problems.
Performance Modeling Richard created and implemented a seven-step performance engineering system that produced significant productivity gains and costs savings in more than one hundred manufacturing projects. His performance system provided tools to identify and reengineer the core competencies and best practices of top technicians. Results were transferred to novice and apprentice personnel through a mix of classroom education, coaching, on-line process documentation, and computer-based training. His system also supported and enhanced the Six-Sigma Program by optimizing operational processes and reducing process variability through technical education.
